History
Wichy Plantation Company and Williams Confectionary Ltd first originated as family owned small businesses. A past rich with Sri Lankan tradition, a family endowed with acute business acumen and the unity and loyalty of hardworking employees have all through the years built up in to two successful and prospering Companies, with major shares in top profit making companies of Sri Lanka.

The Pioneers
The family owned business, now expanded and more sophisticated, with brand names like Williams, Vichy and Wichy, began in the late 1920s. Williams is the Pioneer Producer of Biscuits in Sri Lanka, while Wichy and Vichy, respectively has the honour of being the Pioneers in Growing and Distilling of Lemon Grass Oil and producing Canned Coconut Milk in Sri Lanka.

Family
Managing Partner for both companies, Ranjith Wickramasinghe is responsible for the decisions on all matters of the Wichy Plantation Company and Williams Confectionary Ltd.

The Factory is located at Arthur's Place, Dehiwela, adjoining the Family Estate. The biscuits made initially by hand to old family recipes, were first produced mass scale in 1957, when the first machine was imported from England.
